We are thrilled to announce that ChickTech, a nonprofit organization dedicated to retaining and increasing the number of women in the technology workforce, has been chosen as the charity that will receive Bluewolf's support for 2017.
As part of our Pledge 1% commitment, we are continually focused on giving one percent of our time and expertise back to the community. Our Pack Gives Back philanthropic program sourced hundreds of internal and external votes to determine which nonprofit we should contribute a significant portion of its effort and passion to in the coming year. ChickTech stood out for its dedication to educating and mentoring women and girls in the fields of technology and leadership.
"We are grateful for Bluewolf's support and making us Bluewolf's Pack Gives Back charity of choice," said Janice Levenhagen-Seeley, Founder and CEO, ChickTech. "We look forward to working with Bluewolf in furthering our mission of empowering women and girls in tech."
According to the National Center for Women & Information Technology, the U.S. expects to generate 1.1 million U.S. computing-related jobs in the next 7 years. However only 25 percent of professional computing jobs in the U.S. workforce are held by women. With our expanded partnership with ChickTech, we will host a series of workshops across our U.S. offices throughout 2017 that focus on technical training and education for women in technology, including training on UI/UX design, marketing campaign development, and coding.
Supporting women in technology and leadership is a value promoted at every level at Bluewolf. We'll leave the last word on the subject to our CEO, Eric Berridge, who is a strong supporter of gender diversity and equality. "Gender diversity in the workplace is a business imperative that builds stronger teams and increases business performance. Our Pack Gives Back program lets employees volunteer their time to causes that are meaningful to them. We are thrilled to partner with ChickTech, and support balanced workplace diversity, while helping them achieve a return on innovation."
Bluewolf is recognized as a global leader in the Salesforce implementation ecosystem and has donated time, resources, and proceeds through its Pledge 1% commitment to nonprofits worldwide, including the Community Technology Network, TEAK Fellowship, and Cycle for Survival.
