The Bluewolf Pledge

June 3, 2016

At Bluewolf, we credit our employees and our company culture as the foundation of our success. Our employees, often referred to as our “Pack,” are natural leaders, team players, and innovators that demonstrate these qualities within Bluewolf as well as within our local communities. In light of these qualities, our corporate social responsibility program, Pack Gives Back was formed.

Pack Gives Back is an employee-run program that offers all Pack members opportunities to volunteer their time and services in a way that is meaningful to them. Our mission behind the program began as a response to the growing talent gap of technical skills training in local communities, and has now evolved to include many causes.

Our Pledge

As a commitment to our Pack Gives Back program, we made a pledge through the Pledge 1% Organization to dedicate 1% of our resources to educate, empower, and enable youth through digital literacy guidance, personal and professional development, and mentorship. Pledge 1% helps companies turn philanthropic plans into action by providing resources and connecting them with opportunities to give back. Champions of Pledge 1% include Marc Benioff of Salesforce and Jeremy Stoppelman of Yelp.

How It Works

Pack Gives Back is comprised of three parts: Pack Mentorship, Pack Pro Bono, and Pack Match.

  • Pack Mentorship offers mentorship opportunities to employees within programs that align with our mission statement.
  • Pack Pro Bono gives volunteer opportunities to our technically-skilled employees for them to donate their time and knowledge to nonprofit organizations that need help utilizing certain technologies.
  • Since many of our employees volunteer their time with organizations they are personally invested in that may not have anything to do with our industry, Pack Match is a way to support those passions. Through this program Bluewolf awards multiple grants each quarter, and two larger grants each year to employees who have logged the most volunteer hours.

In providing a variety of ways to get involved, we encourage our entire Pack to contribute to our pledge of donating 1% of our resources.

Our Story

Pack Gives Back has affected employees globally and each has their own story about how giving back has impacted them. Two of our recent mentorship programs invited high school and college students from the Community Technology Network program into our San Francisco office and from the Teak Fellowship in our New York office. Each mentorship session included one-on-one coaching on interview skills, feedback on resumes, and a career panel where Bluewolf employees shared their career stories. After each of these opportunities, employees shared stories of how they were inspired by their mentorees and the students continued to reach out to us as they progressed into their next phases of schooling or careers.

Our biggest differentiator in our industry is our people. We believe in cultivating leaders here who go on to pursue their passions both in the office and outside of it. The Pack Gives Back program enables us to support our public communities in the areas where we work and to continually cultivate our innovative culture that builds fantastic solutions for our clients. We don't prescribe what giving back should mean to our employees, we partner with them and place our trust in them to ensure we're always growing and giving our best.
