Building Success Through Art

March 29, 2016

At Bluewolf, we combine strategy with a creative spirit that inspires not just our work, but how we engage with the communities around us. Last summer, we celebrated the inaugural Bluewolf Art Scholarship, a program that joins financial support for student artists with a professional installation opportunity. This program is both a reflection of our values and a source of thoughtful inspiration.

Jackson Pollock, one of the most famous abstract expressionists of the 20th century, once said that an artist is “one who is building things . . . some with a brush some with a shovelsome choose a pen.” What would he say to the creations of the digital age? We are constantly constructing and reconstructing our environments to suit new needs or opportunity, and it happens almost instantly. How do we sustain this pace and maintain our creativity? The answer lies, as it always has, in art.

We began our art scholarship program in New York City, partnering with Parsons School of Design, and now we’ve expanded to London in partnership with the Royal College of Art. The beauty of these partnerships is that they aren’t static. The art installations in our offices change every six months, and each artist brings a fresh perspective to our work space and who we are as a company.

Daisy Billowes, a winner of the Spring 2016 London scholarship, is interested in “sustaining and exploring the relationship between the digital technologies and the raw action of dynamic movements in this caseof the Bluewolf team. Once hung, each work will be a personal reflection of the room that it is placed in, conversing every day between the movements and patterns happening in the office, and those that it presents to the office.”

Art, in whatever form it takes, offers us a moment to step outside of ourselves, to see the world through another’s eyes. Our emotional response to art is an ongoing conversation, one that enlightens and challenges us to think differently. At Bluewolf, we understand the unique challenges presented to companies who need to constantly adapt, and feel that art, and its many forms of expression, is a powerful, versatile source of inspiration.
