Network Your Way to ROI at Salesforce World Tour Melbourne

March 4, 2015

Dedicating a full day outside of the office — away from customers — is a big investment. But spending that day at Salesforce World Tour is a worthwhile alternative. In addition to learning about the latest Salesforce wares (see the full agenda), one of the most powerful things you can do at the Salesforce World Tour is to network. I am not talking about joining a group on Linkedin, but rather participating in the old-fashioned, real-life activity.

Why is networking so important? #SalesforceTourHunt We often have a perception that our business challenges are unique. Yet in reality, many companies around us encounter and struggle to overcome the same issues we do. Here are my top three ways to network your way to maximum ROI at the event:

  1. Meet people just like you.

Seek out people in companies of your size, in your region, or industry, and start a dialogue about how you overcome some of the common issues encountered. Find out what you can learn from them, and don’t be afraid to give your two cents, too.

    Here are some conversation starters:
    • Driving user adoption: Is your company using the carrot or the stick?
    • Cloud governance: Who is involved and what is the process for deciding your next Salesforce innovation?
    • Data quality: Yikes! This a scary term for every company — recommendations and best practices are sure to be welcome.
    • Mobility: How does your company leverage the power of mobile platforms?
  2. Meet the Salesforce product teams.

In addition to fellow Salesforce customers, in attendance will be Salesforce product teams direct from its HQ in San Francisco. These product marketers have direct access to the product development teams and have great insight into customer success stories and product roadmaps. Have a beer with them at the cocktail reception and get all your burning questions answered.
  3. Meet the partners.

Cloud computing has accelerated the rate at which companies can innovate. A partner, such as (ahem) Bluewolf, has the necessary experience and expertise to help you succeed in the cloud. So visit our booth, ask us questions, and find out what words of wisdom we have to offer.

Pro Tip: Get insight before you attend; see how the best Australian companies are using Salesforce. Download The State of Salesforce: Australian Edition. Or, benchmark your company against more than one thousand global Salesforce customers.
