During the holidays each year, millions of people engage in charitable giving and volunteer work, providing much needed support and care for their communities. At Bluewolf, our Pack Gives Back program enables our employees to volunteer their time to causes and organizations that are meaningful to them.
This year, we made a pledge through Pledge 1% to dedicate 1 percent of our time and resources to non-profits. We want to expand our efforts and choose one non-profit to dedicate a majority of our support to throughout 2017, and we need your help. Cast your vote for the non-profit you'd like to see us expand our partnership with next year:
Cycle for Survival
Cycle for Survival hosts indoor team cycling events to raise money for research and equipment to beat rare cancers. Part exercise, part dance party, and all celebration, each event supports and empowers everyone involved in the fight against cancer, and 100% of every dollar raised goes to Memorial Sloan Kettering within six months. We've worked with Cycle for Survival for the past three years and have four teams set to ride in 2017.
ChickTech
ChickTech is dedicated to educating and mentoring women and girls in the fields of technology and leadership. They host workshops and events, offering hands-on, technology-centric training and support to help women increase their technological capabilities and advance their careers. At our 2016 Women Innovators Network Reception, we pledged to donate volunteer hours on behalf of every attendee and have workshops set up for early 2017.
PowerMyLearning
As our society continues to develop and rely on technology in every part of our lives, digital literacy is non-negotiable. Yet, many students in underserved communities do not have regular access to a computer to complete homework, conduct research, and learn essential skills that will serve them in college and throughout their careers. PowerMyLearning provides students with laptops to put them on an equal technology footing with their peers and enhance their education. We volunteered at six weekend workshops in 2016, which provided computers to over 1,000 students.
Each of these organizations is an incredible asset to their communities, and we are proud to support them. We plan to work with all of them in 2017, but want you to help us decide which group should receive a special focus and elevated level of support throughout the year. Cast your vote now, and Happy Holidays from our Pack to yours.
