Secure Identity Solutions Leader Transforms Systems to Support New Agile Enterprise
NEW YORK – July 5, 2011 – Bluewolf (www.bluewolf.com), a leading agile business consulting firm and Premier Salesforce.com Partner, announced results of its ongoing work with HID Global. Bluewolf worked with the secure identity solutions provider to develop a collaborative platform to establish common goals and strategies across all business units, as well as monitor and adjust revenue and forecasting activties. According to Will West, CFO, HID Global, this has contributed to 12 percent improved on-time delivery, 30 percent reduction in supply chain costs, and other bottom-line improvements in 2011.
“Our work with Bluewolf contributed to strong profitability and extraordinary growth well beyond our 2008 levels, which is the benchmark for most companies coming back from recession,” said West.
HID Global needed organization-wide visibility sparked by recession-compounded challenges associated with its earlier consolidation with sister company ASSA ABLOY Identification Technology.
“After nearly 20 acquisitions, we operated like 20 companies,” said West. “We needed to break down our walls and transform our systems for the kind of across-the-board visibility, collaboration and forecasting that can accelerate our business.”
HID engaged Bluewolf – which has managed 3,000-plus cloud-based implementations over the past 11 years – to address challenges such as responding to fluctuations in demand, increasing customer service levels, and lowering supply chain costs to better compete in price wars spurred by the recession. Bluewolf created new business processes to boost collaboration and accountability across HID’s sales, product marketing, supply chain and finance departments in order to improve forecast accuracy and align supply and demand.
Bluewolf helped HID Global leverage platforms such as Big Machines, Oracle and Salesforce to:
- Define a new process for forecasting that consolidated disparate forecasts into one complete demand statement for supply chain planning
- Capture seasonality trends in an 18-month view to better anticipate sharp increases in demand for access control solutions
- Integrate product marketing and marketing analysis data into the monthly forecasting cycle and align forecast categories with the sales stages
- Integrate forecasting with qualitative information from sales reps
To drive adoption, HID enhanced its performance-based culture, which tied annual salary, incentives and rewards review with an individual’s ability to proactively participate in the process.
“The new collaborative system enables HID to anticipate the future, respond more quickly to changes, reduce surprises, and greatly enrich the supply chain planning process,” said Eric Berridge, co-founder, Bluewolf. “HID is the perfect example of a global organization using transformational processes and cultural change to reduce cost and accelerate the pace of business.”
With Bluewolf, HID improved sales forecast transparency and communications, boosted supply chain efficiency, and achieved higher inventory turns. Additionally, they improved customer service levels, raised manufacturing efficiencies and boosted profitability.
