You have made the commitment to Salesforce, but the work is just beginning. Salesforce is a sophisticated and often complex system.
What functionality are you going to implement? How will you roll out Salesforce for your entire company?
And what qualifications does your Administrator need to keep the system running smoothly?
A Salesforce Administrator is your bread and butter. They are responsible for maintaining and monitoring the entire system from data cleanliness to communicating changes made within the org. From creating new users to installing new software to creating custom reports & dashboards. They have the best understanding of your individual CRM system.
A Salesforce Developer makes things happen. If you want to develop any functionality in Salesforce that does not come out of the box, a certified developer finds the way. They are experts with custom applications development on the Force.com platform, apex, visualforce and appexchange. They are the problem solver of the org functionality.
Whether you have 10 or 100,000 users, there is a lot to consider when rolling out Salesforce. To unlock the full potential of Salesforce and the Force.com platform, training and education is critical. Bluewolf’s advice: educate first and then implement.
Educating project team members such as Business Product Owners or IT Administrators (in advance of project launch if possible) is critical to success at Go Live. Training project teams upfront helps them to make educated decisions during discovery and design. Additionally, training helps customer become self sufficient after their consulting partner is gone, and allows them to adapt Salesforce to the rapidly changing needs of their business.
- Eric Cordell, Bluewolf Director
Companies all too often underestimate the value of training, or delay it until after go live. You’ve already invested so heavily in your CRM system now invest in your employee's knowledge. Both an Administrator and Developer are key roles that you need to make your system runs smoothly and efficiently but to ensure this they must be qualified and experienced.
