New York’s Most Outstanding Employers Featured in December 5th Issue;
The North Highland Company Named Best Place to Work

New York, NY – December 5, 2011 – Crain’s New York Business today announced the winners of the “Best Places to Work in New York City 2011” competition. These companies represent a diverse range of industries including technology, marketing and public relations, engineering, finance, hospitality and law. A ranking of the top 50 businesses appears in the December 5th edition of Crain’s. The North Highland Company, a consulting firm, took the coveted first place.

Winners were chosen based on the results of a weighted survey of both employees and employers conducted by Crain’s New York Business in partnership with Best Companies Group.  It is the fourth consecutive year Crain’s has conducted this research to determine the most desirable companies to work for in New York City.

“The 50 companies that make up Crain’s ‘Best Places to Work in New York City’ represent the top employers throughout the five boroughs and explain why the best and brightest from all over the country consistently choose to make our city the place where they live and work,” said Xana Antunes, editor of Crain’s New York Business. “This distinguished group of winners can take pride in the fact that it was the praise and support of their own employees that earned them this honor in the nation’s most competitive business market.”

In addition to a ranking of the top 50 companies, the December 5th issue of Crain’s also lists the top companies in three categories, according to company size: Small companies, with up to 149 employees; mid-sized companies, with 150 to 499 employees; and large companies, with 500 or more employees.
