Better Data and Design, Powered by Orion

June 9, 2016

Marketo has been full of surprises lately. From their release of Project Orion at The Marketing Nation Summit last month to their acquisition by Vista, marketers are abuzz about what comes next. For now, we can only speculate on Marketo’s future plans, but we do have the top five things you should know about their spring release.

  1. Project Orion is powering major improvements to E-mail Insights. This analytics dashboard is now faster and received a complete design overhaul aimed at creating a better user experience. Marketo is rolling out this feature to users in batches beginning June 3rd. You’ll receive an e-mail notifying you when your dashboard has been updated.
  2. Continuing the trend of UI improvements, e-mail editing can now be done with drag-n-drop functions that closely resemble Salesforce’s Lightning Experience.
  3. It’s now easier to create graphic in-app messages and monitor their performance in the In-App Message program. As more and more customers shop and communicate via a mobile device, Marketo is responding to marketers’ need to create more visual messaging and improve the mobile experience for their customers.
  4. To aid in the improvement of data quality Marketo added a new Admin Tab, which shows sync errors in detail. Admins can now easily identify and remedy these issues, leading to better data consistency. Six out of ten marketers list data as an obstacle to doing their jobs so the easier it is to keep data up-to-date, the better.
  5. The Custom Objects Grid is another data quality management tool as it offers a view of the number of records and fields for all published custom objects. This makes troubleshooting issues with Custom Objects easier with the added ability to see how many people are potentially affected by those issues.

Regardless of what comes next for Marketo, we’re excited by the potential of Project Orion to continue powering faster, more intuitive marketing automation tools. You can find the release notes for spring here and the release schedule is located here
