Over the next three years, more than one billion new smartphones will be shipped for business use, says IDC. This number affirms what everyone already knows: mobile is now a major player for the enterprise. For businesses, mobile accessibility of business applications has quickly shifted from convenience to necessity. Emphasized in, The Desktop is Dead—How to Get Your Sales Team Mobile, organizations can’t afford to be chained to the desktop. With the explosion of enterprise mobile and big annoucements from salesforce.com about mobile in the coming days, what better time to embrace mobile than Dreamforce! Here are five ways to #GoMobile at Dreamforce:
- Download the Dreamforce Mobile App
Dreamforce is bigger than ever: more sessions (1000+), more attendees (100,000+), more partners, and a larger campus this year. Manage the chaos of Dreamforce and stay connected with attendees by downloading the Dreamforce mobile app. Two of our favorite features of the Dreamforce app this year are My Agenda, and the Shuttles feature, under Maps & Transport tab. Help manage your schedule and gain real-time insights into shuttle bus locations, routes, and more.

- #GoSocial on your Mobile
According to recent comScore survey, 65% of time spent on social networks happens on mobile. So why not take your pocket-sized social network along with you to Dreamforce?
Salesforce Chatter Mobile: Connect with colleagues at the show, send photo updates to teams at the home office, set tasks, and tag opportunities so you can move business forward from the show.
Check-in: Find the best restaurants and San Francisco's finest venues with Yelp and Foursquare. Here are a few recommendations.
Tweet: Live tweet the keynotes and sessions you attend. Look for catchy one-liners from each session, and use the hashtags #DF13 and #SalesforceLive to be included in @SalesforceLive’s Twitter feed.
Share: Post fun photos and videos (Facebook, Vine, and Instagram) from the demos and parties - It’s all about the Wearables
The latest mobile trend has hit the streets: wearable technology. Fitness trackers (Fitbit, Jawbone Up, Nike+), Google Glass, and smart watches all fall into the wearable category. Expect to see a lot of people wearing mobile gadgets at the Dreamforce. If you geek out on data and tracking as much as I do, there is even a Dreamforce Group dedicated to it here. With an expanded Dreamforce campus, skip the shuttles and stretch those legs. - Check out the custom mobile apps
A growing number of salesforce.com users are engaging their employees and getting closer to their customers by building their own custom mobile apps on the Salesforce Platform (52% according to our recent State of Salesforce Survey). Peruse the Cloud Expo for live demos and customer showcases and join the over 100+ sessions dedicated to mobile at Dreamforce. Here are our top picks:
